Frustrations....Dish Network...all the same!!!
Just the other day I was attempting to help my in-laws with the problem that they were having with their DVR from Dish Network! It said that there was a fatal error on the hard disk and to call this number for technical support! So I did....3 hours later I still have not talked to someone in Technical Support! I talked to 9 different customer service agents and 3 different customer service supervisors which all routed back to the same number I dialed, having to go through the whole automated mess again...which sent me right back to customer service! It was so Aggravating! I just recently read the book "Inside the Magic Kingdom!" It talks about how Disney runs Disney World and the lengths it goes to give everyone that same magical experience! I think it's a great book to read on leadership, however...Dish Network was not Disney! They did not even send me to someone who could help me! After confronting several of the representatives about the problem with being sent around in a phone tagging circle...they began hanging up on me! Further more the last person I talked to actually ended up being the first person I spoke with which also hung up on me after about 10 minutes of trying to sort things out which she then said she could send me a free DVR with the upfront cost of $99...that's not free..it's their problem, it's under warranty...they need to fix it! Dish Network has, by all means, the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! Sorry about the ranting but if you are thinking about Dish Network over Direct or cable...you may want to think again!

We've got Dish, and we've received two (count 'em - 2!) DVRs that sound like jet engines taking off when their fan comes on.
It's very frustrating. I had no problems getting them to send me a replacement, but when the replacement made me run for cover, I am thinking of switching back to Direct. Thank goodness we didn't sign a contract...

Sorry man! We had bad experience with Dish. Several years ago, we got our dish in the fall when their we no leaves on the trees. Needless to say when summer hit our dish didn't work. They couldn't do anything about it because of the trees, yet we were stuck in a contract with them. I feel your pain. This is why we have cable right now.
I don't have dish...but am having my own issues with charter these days. I agree with Brit - you should blog a little more often. At least once every 6 months. :-)
